Nike’s Hypervenom “Strike Night” Special Edition Released

Released as part of a special celebratory head-to-head competition that took place on March 1st to crown the world’s best goalscorer, the Nike Hypervenom Phantom III DF FG Black – Blackout was introduced on a pretty big stage. The release images, however, definitely didn’t do justice to how good these boots actually look!

In person, these boots are pretty spectacular and definitely rank among my favorite for a while. The key feature is the Swoosh that Nike use across a signature stealth black upper, giving the boots a flash reflective look under the right light. It stands out whether you are playing in natural daylight or under night lights. In order to finish off the look, Nike use Total Crimson in key areas including the Flywire lacelets and soleplate for added detailing.

When it comes to performance, everything is the same as the original release version, you can read our review here from guthjcc.com. In summary, they are one of the best boot releases of recent times. Nike’s decision to use Flyknit elevates the Hypervenom silo to another level. You can easily mold and fold the material under your fingers, and it is essentially broken in before you even get to touch them!

In terms of “DF”, or the 2018 Nike Hypervenom Phantom Dynamic Fit collar, each new release/modification made by Nike seems to be taking the technology in the right direction.  On this version, the new angled cut stays tighter toward the top, while allowing for additional stretch as your ankle pivots.
